GOVERNOR'S PARK NORTH PRESS BOX

The City of Charleston set aside a 40-acre tract of land on Daniel Island to provide both active and passive recreation for the public. Completed in 2012, Governor’s Park includes a dog park, playground, picnic areas, waterfront trail, sporting fields, and a nine-acre grand lawn with the 1,350-square-foot North Press Box centrally located within the baseball, softball, and soccer fields. The scale was kept small and functional to complement the surrounding context and houses a small concession area, public toilets, and press box/announcer area on the second floor.
